If you need help, we can certainly provide the necessary labour for an additional fee. If you want to do it yourself, we will deliver the cube to the desired location and give you the time you need to fill it.
In the vast majority of cases, it is possible to use our cubes. However, we advise you to check with your landlord first to see if he/she is willing to have the cube placed on the property or in the driveway.
Yes, seasonal storage is one of the great benefits of mobile storage. At approximately 5′ x 8′ x 7′, the cube can hold your entire set and more (summer or winter tyres for example).
Certainly, as soon as a cube leaves the warehouse, it is covered with a waterproof canvas to protect it from the weather. However, the cube is not an insulated container and its interior environment is not controlled. For this reason, we recommend that if you keep the cubes in your home, you only store items that cannot be damaged by the weather. In addition, you should lock the cube with your own padlock and keep the keys.
Our aim is to allow you to fill the cube at your own pace. In some cases, such as when the cube is blocking an alley, it must be picked up the same day. As the rental starts when the cube is delivered to you, there is no time limit or extra charge for keeping it at home to fill it.
In some areas, a permit is required to place cubes in a public parking space or alley. To avoid unpleasant surprises, check with your community or borough service office.
During opening hours, you retain unrestricted access to your belongings (at no extra cost). However, a 48-hour notice is required to allow us to accommodate you.
One rule: as early as possible! By starting early, you can pack in stages, which has the double advantage of reducing the stress of the move and allowing you to estimate your packing material needs. You may find that you need more boxes, that you are short of bubble wrap or that you don’t have enough cubes. You will then have plenty of time to remedy the situation.
If you need boxes, covers, moving blankets or any other packing material, we can provide it. Contact us to find out more.
▷ Avoid unpleasant surprises by packing your goods one piece at a time: this makes it easier to take inventory of your goods and packing materials
▷ Don’t leave empty space in and between your boxes and place heavy objects on the floor so that nothing moves
▷ Put heavy items in small boxes and light items in large boxes, and remember: new boxes are stronger!
▷ Protect your belongings with protective paper, moving blankets, bubble wrap and tape 5cm and wider
▷ Disassemble the chairs if possible and attach the legs together
▷ Wrap the table in a blanket and place it vertically on the side of the cube
▷ Flip your sofas over one on top of the other and make sure you protect the armrests
▷ Pack mattresses and box springs in protective covers and dismantle the bed base if possible before packing
▷ Clean your mats and rugs well and then roll them up before attaching them; they can be used to fill the gaps between boxes
▷ Dismantle the torch or stand lamps and place them in individual boxes, filling in the empty space
▷ Cover your bicycles with moving blankets
▷ Place the small tools together in a box
▷ Store hanging clothes in a wardrobe box and leave your clothes in the dresser drawers, taping them securely
▷ Wrap your mirrors and picture frames in protective paper and bubble wrap and place them between the mattress and box spring or on their sides, making sure they won’t slip
▷ Clean your appliances and tape any doors left ajar
▷ Store your books and papers in small boxes: this avoids overloading and makes transport easier
► Make sure no organic material is stored in the cube
► Avoid scratches and breakage by protecting your belongings with bubble wrap or protective paper and moving blankets
► Make sure your boxes are completely filled and securely closed
► A golden rule: fill a quarter of the space at a time, from floor to ceiling, leaving no empty space
► Be sure to distribute the weight evenly and place heavy items on the bottom and light items on top
► Leave clothes in drawers and pack your most fragile belongings in them
► Place related items (by room in the house, for example) in the same cube
► Place items you intend to use before the end of storage as close to the opening of the cube as possible
► Protect the cube with a good padlock or by parking your vehicle so that the door is blocked
► Make an inventory of the goods you store for each cube and keep a copy
